The Referendum on the Independence of Kurdistan Region in Iraq

The referendum on the independence of a region from the state, uses Kurdistan Region of Iraq as a model. It discusses countries in which regions have gained their independence as well as the various ways and means of gaining independence, the justifications thereof and typical obstacles which are encountered in this process. It also, covers the risks and advantages of these processes, its effects on international security and peace in general. Self-determination is a legitimate means for any occupied nation or any people who are able to exercise according to International Law. It is a basic right to humans individually and collectively that has been created from outcomes of injustice and tyranny against wronged nations by dictatorial regimes and absolute power due to the discrimination of religion, language, ethnics, sectarianism, national identification, freedom of expressions and freedom of politics.
